BODY: Transforming Mommy Minds and Bodies

Do you want to get fit and don’t know how? Did your body change after pregnancy and you can’t seem to strengthen your core again? Or has emotional eating packed on pounds that you can no longer deny? Perhaps you’ve tried but felt discouraged because it takes a lot of money to invest in a gym, hire a trainer, and a nutritionist, plus there’s no time in your busy schedule to do that.
Here’s the good news. None of us need that.
Our Beijing community discovered the 21 Day Fix and 21 Day Extreme Fitness programs created by Beachbody super trainer Autumn Calebrese that you can do at your own home, in your own time (it's only 30 minutes a day), supported by a village of women who are on the same fitness journey as you.
Our group embraces diversity in age, cultural backgrounds, beliefs and body shapes. Our online community has given us a space to love our bodies by exercising, fueling it with nutritious food, sharing our struggles, posting sweaty selfies, and celebrating non-scale victories as we juggle families, careers, passions, relationships, and self-care.

Although a fitness journey is a personal one, we are not meant to do it alone. Having other women travel alongside us, help us to achieve beyond what we thought possible. Together, we've become stronger, healthier and more confident. The transformation that we've seen has gone beyond the loss of weight and inches to a new-found way of living in our mind, heart, and bodies.
Additionally, we have a team of volunteer mentors based in Beijing who have successfully finished the programs and are keen to pay it forward by supporting those who are just starting their journey.
We are celebrating our first year this month and want to invite you to join our village of women looking for accountability, support and friendship while getting fitter and stronger every day. Transformative stories take time to tell because they require a period of change. Real change happens when the impact of the journey has taken root deep into one’s being and has changed a person from the inside out.
“I’m a mom of two children, working for a Russian company and researching about Traditional Chinese Medicine. I gained weight after my second pregnancy and packed on 20kg that I couldn’t lose. Plus, I felt pain in my spine, knees and felt uncomfortable in my big body. My appearance affected my mood and I always felt tired. I started with this group a year ago and have now finished several rounds of 21 Days and am completing my first 80 day obsession round!” – Lia
“I tell my friends that I have a sweet tooth and that I couldn't say “no” to chocolate and cakes. I used to eat like there’s no tomorrow, or I would go to the extreme of starving myself for a couple of days. My work-out was basically my job as a preschool teacher. I witnessed my friend Polina’s transformation towards a healthier lifestyle in mind and body through the 21 Day Fitness group, and she also managed to convince me to join. I was very hesitant at first but trusted her judgement, and the accountability of the wonderful women in the group. After 3 rounds of 21 Day Fix, I lost 5kg and four dress sizes (from size 10 to size 6). I feel healthier, stronger and more energetic!” – Iryna

“My biggest problem was that I was unhappy in the body that I had. I suffered depression after birth, and I couldn’t recover. In February (2018), my daughter was about 18 months and I realized how long I had been suffering, quietly and hiding from it and not willing to face my problem. I hide in food, feeling miserable from eating so much but I couldn’t stop. I didn't even want to look at myself because it disgusted me. As I finished four Beachbody programs – 21 Day Fix, 21 Day Fix Extreme, 80 Day Obsession and Lift 4 - I’ve learned that I’m a strong woman, I can take control of my life no matter the situation and not let my emotions win over my body and health. I’ve gained the confidence that I lacked all this time. I’ve lost 26kg, and I feel strong, confident and beautiful. “I’ve been in Beijing for 25 years and had hit a low in my life, when I was introduced to the 21 day fitness community. When I started with the 21 Day Fitness group, I saw those ladies and thought I could never be like them. I learned that a bit of dedication and time can reap huge benefits. I feel like a whole new person! I learned that there are stories behind every sweaty selfie. I learned it was important to express struggle because the group motivation really helped and that you really need to keep focused on why you started. I tracked every small non-scale victory, and tried on my too small clothes often to keep me motivated and on track. I learned to be an expert, able to modify the moves that I hated or weren’t what my body needed. I learned to listen to my body…I feel like I lost 10 years off my age along with the weight. I bounce when I walk, love what I see in the mirror and feel totally confident for the first time in years. This has been a mental transformation as well as a physical one.” - Astra
